Adel Methodist Sunrise Celebration

Adel Methodist Scouts celebrated the 1st of August Sunrise Celebration at Bedquilts playing fields in Adel.  We had a short service where we reflected on our past scouting experiences, renewed our promise and asked all those present to tell someone else about the sunrise celebration and the scouting centenary sometime during the day.

After the more formal part of the celebration we invited everyone for breakfast with bacon rolls, tea and juice.  This was no mean feat with 60 scouts, parents and guests in attendance.

To finish off the celebration we released 40 balloons (purple to represent the World Scouting) which was a great success with every one of all ages.  Each balloon carried the following message.

Growth, Recognition, celebration Scouting 2007
Beaver, Cubs and Scouts at Adel Methodist Scout Group in Leeds,
Released balloons on the 1st August 2007 in celebration of 100 years of scouting.

To date we have had one person email us to say they have found one of our balloons, well early days!

Lots of Cubs and Beavers, too early Scouts! Short but reflective celebration Breakfast for 60 please
Ever seen Scouts so quiet? Let hope someone find them
