Cub Scout Personal Safety Badge Print E-mail
Cub Scout Personal Safety BadgeFollowing the launch of the new Cub Scout Serco Personal Safety badge on the Beaver and Cub Fun Day, a free activity pack is available to help you and your Cub Scouts in completing the badge.

Crime on the railway kills up to one hundred people every year - usually those that are carrying out criminal acts or are unaware of the dangers.

The Cub Scout Serco Personal Safety Badge activity pack is endorsed by the British Transport Police. Full of interesting facts and activities to complete and including true-life stories, this pack - together with the background notes - enables Leaders to demonstrate easily how to be safe and responsible on and around railways.

Leaders will be able to contact either their local British Transport Police Neighbourhood Policing Team or local train operating company, using the online contact list. This could result in a tour of your local railway station and possibly a free train trip.

One of the activities in the pack is to create a new sign that relates to rail safety. The creator of the best design will win their Cub Pack a day trip by rail to the National Railway Museum in York (Maximum of 30). More information on how to enter will be available soon.
