Introduction to Hunters Greave Scout Activity Centre E-mail

Or if you are an experienced camper we have facilities for the very best in basic scout camping.

Camping area E-mail
2002_0420ck.jpgThe wooded camping area offers sheltered accommodation for tents and ideal surroundings for day activities.

Woodfire cooking is encouraged but fires must be built on the permanent bases provided. Bricks and fire grids are available for building altar fires if required.

 

 

There is a Standpipe Water tap, Refuse Disposal, Incinerator, Wood pile and Campfire area and a Permanent Climbing Frame on site.

There is a good supply of pioneering poles and some heavy duty rope Is available.

Covered Accommodation & Toilet facilities E-mail

If you require covered accommodation we have a building with:

2001_1202_133017aa.jpgWe can provied covered accommodation at Hunters Greave Avtivity Centre with inculdes the main room (17ft x 30ft), carpeted floor, with tables and chairs. Suitable for eating or sleeping (bring own beds or lilos). Portable gas heaters available.

Separate kitchen (17ft x 16ft) with sink, hot & cold running water, electric water boiler, fridge and freezer.

Gas cooker with 8 rings, two ovens and grill Microwave.  Lots of work surfaces and storage shelves. Both rooms have electric lighting and 13 amp sockets.

Toilet facilities

The toilet block with electric lighting is adjacent to the site building. It has 4 flush toilets,
One set aside for ladies. There are 4 wash basins with cold running water, mirrors and shelf for toiletries.

Charges - Hunters Greave Scout Activity Centre E-mail

Charges - Hunters Greave Scout Activity Centre from 1st January 2008

Site building and toilet facilities weekdays only (Monday to 4 pm Friday)
Use during day or any part thereof £15 /day + 50p/person/day, plus electricity on meter reading.

 Weekday evening use after 6 pm

£6 plus electricity. There is no additional charge per person.

Weekends (6 pm Friday - Sunday evening) The site building may only be booked for a full weekend.
Cost £30 + 50p/person/day, plus electricity on meter reading.

Use of camping area only (including toilets)

£1.00 per person per day.

The term person per day means that camps starting on a Friday evening and ending during Sunday will be charged as 2 days. Camps starting on a Saturday morning or afternoon and ending during Sunday will also be charged as 2 days. Camps starting on any evening and ending during the day after will be charged as 1 day.

 

Use of camping area (including toilets) for day activities

A charge of 50p per person will be made for day or part day Activities. Special terms may be negotiated for large single
Day events. Contact the warden for details.
 

Use of camping area only during evening

No charge will be made for evening use of the camping area but the warden must be notified by phone. Access for Vehicles is not normally provided for evening use.  Water and toilet facilities will not be provided unless the Site building is booked.

Groups taking advantage of this free evening use are specifically reminded to leave the site clean and tidy.
 

 

 
Booking - Hunters Greave Scout Activity Centre E-mail
All bookings should be made to the camp warden - Mr David Cox.
Each booking will be acknowledged by post giving details and current charges.

The person who booked the site must inform the warden or
Assistant warden of their arrival time at least 2 days
Before the camp or activity.
Access to site and /or building can then be arranged.

Site fees will be collected by the warden or assistant warden.
